Strategic Leadership: Inspire, Influence and Achieve Results
(NBAA PDP L3)
This course is for senior managers and flight department managers. It is designed to improve the leadership skills and performance of those people in positions of power who find themselves being a role model, empowering personnel, building effective teams, promoting the exchange of information and making sound decisions in order to achieve flight department goals and promote corporate objectives.
We use intensive coaching methods, case studies and exercises to apply the concepts covered.
When Leaders Talk: Mastering Communication Skills (NBAA PDP L4)
This highly engaging and interactive course will help aviation professionals learn leadership communication skills that will increase their productivity, reduce their time, and enhance their professionalism. The course is geared toward management leaders who need to disseminate information through various means of communication in order to improve understanding at relevant levels of the corporation.
Building a High Performance Flight Department Team
(NBAA PDP L5)
Aviation team leaders will look at individual and organizational behavior and techniques used to develop a high performance team. The course will cover the essential elements of teamwork and address some common problems faced in flight departments (competing egos and personalities, high stress, fatigue, finger pointing, competing agendas, team member accountability, career mobility, etc.). Participants will engage in problem-solving exercises that provide learning opportunities in the areas of leadership, communication, teamwork, feedback, support and high performance.
Participants will learn methods to develop the kind of trust that builds commitment and accountability. Setting clear direction, enforcing teamwork and creating a motivational environment as well as dealing with human factors such as fatigue, medical disorders, and stress when operating as a high performance team will be covered.
Finance for Non-financial Aviation Managers
(NBAA PDP BA7)
Everyone who has purchasing and billing responsibilities, operates within a budget, or is concerned with the bottom line, will want to attend this program. Participants develop a system to facilitate gathering relevant data for various management accounting reports and prepare both fixed and variable (flexible) budgets. They will learn how operating transactions impact these financial statements.
The course focuses on some of the following:
- Use of budgets for planning and control
- The concepts of cost behavior including variable, mixed and fixed costs; breakeven analysis
- Discounted cash flow
- Net present value
- EBITDA and cost of capital.
Moving into Supervision and Management
Participants study individual and interpersonal factors as well as team processes required for effective performance. The hands-on program addresses skills to enhance interpersonal communication and team performance and techniques to make decisions and solve problems.
