Human Factors
Maintenance Resource Management
This course goes beyond looking at accident investigation contributing factors; it creates a pro-active mindset by looking at the individual and interpersonal human factors as well as team processes and the organizational environment required for effective performance.
The hands-on program addresses mental models for aviation safety and awareness, systems to reduce cost, steps to make decisions and solve problems, and skills to enhance interpersonal communication and team performance. The course also meets the intent of Canada's CAR 573.06 and EASA Part 145.30 (e) requirement which states: "The competence of personnel involved in maintenance, management and/ or quality audits must be established and controlled. In addition, competence must include an understanding of the application of human factors and human performance issues."
Our instructors use training techniques and tools that ensure active learning which include: group discussions, accident/incident analysis, case studies, and individual and teamwork exercises. These practical exercises will enable attendees to gain confidence in their newly acquired skills and knowledge, and hone the skills for those who have taken previous MRM courses by providing a means of assessing competence and aptitude.
